eLearning Tools

I created a wiki about elearning tools with a learning partner, there is a great collection of resources on Lucidchart, Screencast-O-Matic, and Slack.

Some other awesome tools that I’ve been using during this course are:

VideoPad by NCH Software: How is this free?  I honestly don’t understand. It’s a bit complicated but there are some good tutorial videos.

YouTube: I uploaded my first ever YouTube video! In doing so I learned another challenge for online educators – technology changes so quickly! I wanted to add clickable links (annotations) to take people to the articles that I’d used to create the video but it turns out they’d been discontinued.  Boo-urns.

Mindmeister: I actually used this to take notes while I was doing course reading – I found that there was WAY more content than I expected in this course, and creating mindmaps while I was reading really helped me to organize and relate the material.

OneNote: Holy cow I’m now obsessed with OneNote. I can access my stuff from my work laptop, my phone, my personal laptop. I can take notes, screenshots, and….. DICTATE STUFF. This was a life changer. I had to write a script to go along with a video I created, and instead of typing it out, I watched my video and created it more organically by just… talking. And OneNote did the work of writing it down for me.
